E-Learning System For Healthcare
A fully featured learning management system implemented in Joomla. The system is a platform for nurses to take online classes and tests to maintain their certifications that are mandatory per the healthcare regulations.
Project Summary
This project was a collection of three websites that offered courses and certifications for nurses that are required by certain healthcare regulations. The courses were offered either through participating organizations or directly through online subscriptions. The websites were implemented using the Joomla multisite component. Organizations, users, courses, tests, certifications and reports were all implemented as custom Joomla components with a backend that offered role based access to the administrators. The entire system was a huge data repository with new courses and tests added regularly.
Every participating organization had its own access to the Joomla backend to manage the courses and certifications for their staff. This project was one of the most complex Joomla implementations we have handled so far. The end system can be compared to any advanced learning management system available in the market. We also implemented SCORM compliance for this system, which is a standard for learning management systems and helps integrate with other solutions.
